The New Jersey Judgment of Incapacity Appointment of Guardian(s) of Person is a court order appointing a person or persons to act as guardians for a person deemed incapacitated or non compos mentis. This legal document is issued by the Superior Court of New Jersey and grants the appointed guardian(s) the authority to make decisions and take actions on behalf of the incapacitated person. There are two main types of guardians appointed under a New Jersey Judgment of Incapacity Appointment of Guardian(s) of Person: a guardian of the person, who is responsible for the personal welfare of the incapacitated person, and a guardian of the estate, who is responsible for managing the incapacitated person’s financial affairs. The court order may also appoint a limited guardian with limited authority to make decisions for the incapacitated person.
