Nebraska Parenting Plan Parent-Created (Joint Legal and Joint Physical Custody) is a type of child custody arrangement in which both parents share legal and physical custody of the child. This type of arrangement allows both parents to have equal input into decisions about the child’s welfare, such as education, healthcare, and extracurricular activities. Under this type of arrangement, the child typically lives with each parent for a designated period of time. Parents also share the responsibility for providing financial support for the child. The parents must agree on a schedule that works for both of them and the child. There are two types of Nebraska Parenting Plan Parent-Created (Joint Legal and Joint Physical Custody): Traditional Joint Legal and Physical Custody and Modified Joint Legal and Physical Custody. Traditional Joint Legal and Physical Custody involves each parent having equal access to the child and the responsibility for making decisions about the child’s welfare. Modified Joint Legal and Physical Custody involves one parent having primary custody and the other parent having visitation rights.
