The North Dakota Certificate of Professional License is a document issued by the North Dakota State Board of Nursing that recognizes an individual as having completed the required education and training to practice a regulated healthcare profession in the state. It is issued to qualified individuals who have passed the North Dakota Nurse Practice Act and/or have met the specific requirements for a particular profession. There are four types of North Dakota Certificates of Professional License: Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). The certificate is valid for three years and must be renewed at the end of the expiration date. The holder must complete continuing education requirements and pass a criminal background check in order to maintain the certificate.
