Minnesota Employment Discrimination Complaint is a legal complaint filed with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDR) to address allegations of discrimination in employment based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, public assistance status, or familial status. There are two types of Minnesota Employment Discrimination Complaint: a charge of discrimination and a retaliatory discrimination claim. A charge of discrimination is an allegation that an employer has discriminated against an individual based on a protected class. A retaliatory discrimination claim is an allegation that an employer is retaliating against an individual for filing a charge of discrimination or for participating in any related investigation.
