Michigan Order For Vehicle Immobilization (MOVE) is a program created by the Michigan State Police wherein a law enforcement officer may order a vehicle to be immobilized if the vehicle is used in the commission of a crime or is associated with criminal activity. MOVE allows for a vehicle to be immobilized with a wheel boot, a tire deflation, or a vehicle towing system. This immobilization prevents the vehicle from being used until the owner pays the applicable fines and fees. In addition, the vehicle owner must also comply with all other court orders. If the owner fails to comply, the vehicle may be impounded. Types of Michigan Order For Vehicle Immobilization include: wheel boot, tire deflation, and vehicle towing.
