The Kentucky Statement of Qualification (SQ) is a document issued by the Kentucky Secretary of State's office that serves as evidence of a corporation's legal existence in the state. It is a formal document, and it is used to register new companies and update existing companies' information. The Kentucky SQ is also used to verify a corporation's name, its date of incorporation, and the address of its principal office. There are two types of Kentucky SQS: the Domestic SQ and the Foreign SQ. The Domestic SQ is issued to companies that are incorporated within Kentucky, while the Foreign SQ is issued to companies that are registered in other states but do business in Kentucky. The Kentucky SQ is also used to submit an application for a Certificate of Authority, which is required in order to do business in the state.
