An Indiana Exemplification Certificate is an official document issued by the Indiana Secretary of State's office to authenticate an official document such as a marriage license or birth certificate. It can also be used to verify the signatures on a document. The Indiana Exemplification Certificate is signed by the Secretary of State or their designee and bears the official seal of the State of Indiana. There are two types of Indiana Exemplification Certificates: Standard and Apostle. The Standard Certificate is used for documents that are being used within the state of Indiana. The Apostle Certificate is used for documents that are intended for use in other countries and is recognized by The Hague Convention.
