Indiana Schedule J: Your Expenses (individuals) is an Indiana state income tax form that individuals must file in order to report their personal expenses during the tax year. It is used to determine the amount of itemized deductions that may be claimed on a state income tax return. There are two types of Indiana Schedule J: Your Expenses (individuals): Type 1 for individuals who are not self-employed, and Type 2 for individuals who are self-employed. Type 1 includes expenses such as medical, dental, and health care expenses; taxes; home mortgage interest and points; charitable contributions; and miscellaneous deductions. Type 2 includes expenses such as self-employment taxes; home office expenses; health insurance premiums; retirement plan contributions; and business expenses.
