Iowa Registration/Renewal of Athlete Agent is a process by which an individual is registered with the Iowa Division of Professional Regulation in order to legally represent athletes in the state of Iowa. It is important to note that Iowa does not recognize a general ‘sports agent’ license. Instead, an individual must register as an ‘athlete agent’ to be legally recognized as an agent in the state of Iowa. There are two types of Iowa Registration/Renewal of Athlete Agent: initial registration and renewal registration. Initial registration requires an individual to submit an application form, a $100 registration fee, a surety bond in the amount of $25,000, and a registration form with the Iowa Division of Professional Regulation. Renewal registration requires an individual to submit an application form, a $50 renewal fee, and a renewal form with the Iowa Division of Professional Regulation. In both cases, an individual must also complete an approved continuing education course prior to submitting the application or renewal form.
