Connecticut Request for Nondisclosure of Location Information — Civil Protection Order is a legal request to a third-party service provider such as a phone company or internet service provider to refrain from disclosing the location of a protected individual. The request is commonly used in cases of domestic violence or stalking in Connecticut. There are two types of Connecticut Request for Nondisclosure of Location Information — Civil Protection Order: (1) Ex Parte Nondisclosure Order, which is issued without notice to the opposing party; and (2) Full Nondisclosure Order, which is issued after notice to the opposing party and a hearing. Both Ex Parte and Full Nondisclosure Orders are issued to protect the location of the protected individual and are enforceable by the courts in the state of Connecticut.
