The Alabama Administrative Procedures for Filing, Signing, Retaining and Verification of Pleadings and Papers in Case Management / Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) (pursuant to Local Rule 5005-4) consist of four distinct procedures. The first procedure is the electronic filing of pleadings and papers in CM/ECF. This requires the filing of pleadings and papers using the Court's electronic filing system. All electronic filings must comply with Local Rule 5005-4 and must include a signature page in accordance with the rules of the Court. The second procedure is the signing of pleadings and papers in CM/ECF. This requires that all pleadings and papers must be signed by counsel of record or the party, and that the signature must be in the same form as it appears on the signature page. The third procedure is the retention of pleadings and papers in CM/ECF. This requires that all pleadings and papers must be kept in the Court's electronic filing system for the duration of the case. The fourth procedure is the verification of pleadings and papers in CM/ECF. This requires that all pleadings and papers must be verified by counsel of record or the party in accordance with the rules of the Court. The verification must be in the same form as it appears on the signature page. These procedures are designed to ensure that all pleadings and papers filed in the Court's electronic filing system are accurate, complete, and properly verified in accordance with the rules of the Court.
