Idaho Renewing a Civil Judgment is a process in which a court reinstates a court order that has expired. This process is necessary for a creditor to continue to receive payments from the defendant. There are two types of Idaho Renewing a Civil Judgment: 1) Renewal by Motion and 2) Renewal by Renewal Judgment. Renewal by Motion is a process in which a creditor requests the court to renew a civil judgment that has expired. This motion must be filed prior to the expiration date of the civil judgment. Renewal by Renewal Judgment is a process in which the creditor files a new civil judgment with the court. This type of renewal is done after the original civil judgment has expired. Both types of renewal require the creditor to provide notice to the defendant and may require a hearing.
