Exception: In some cases, an alien in a currently valid legal nonimmigrant classification may meet the residence rules of Texas. When the residency requirement is met, the person is eligible for Medicaid for the treatment of an emergency medical condition if all other eligibility criteria also are met.
Who can receive these services? We serve people with severe disabilities under age 60 who need help with daily living activities in their homes. The law requires the State to process medical applications as follows: • 60 days - Medical assistance for persons requiring a disability determination. 45 days - Medical assistance for all others.
The Illinois Department of Public Health has 30 business days to review complete applications from the date the Department receives them. The Department has 15 days after an application is approved to issue a registry identification card.
States are required by federal law to approve or deny Medicaid applications within 45 days, or 90 days for applications that require a disability determination.
