The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's (DBPR) CTMH Division oversees five program areas: iniums, cooperatives, timeshares, mobile homes, and yacht and ship brokers and salespersons.
The ombudsman shall develop policies and procedures to assist unit owners, boards of directors, board members, community association managers, and other affected parties to understand their rights and responsibilities as set forth in this chapter and the inium documents governing their respective association.
In Florida, residents can initiate legal action against their condo association if they believe the association has been negligent, however, the actual legal theory under which a resident would file a lawsuit is breach of contract and/or breach of a statutory duty.
