(2) A current North Carolina rent or mortgage payment receipt, or current utility bill in the name of the applicant or the applicant's legal spouse showing a North Carolina address.
Acceptable Documents Used to Establish Residency: Escrow Papers, with closing date not more than 30 days from the current date. Lease/rental agreement with receipt from property owner. Mortgage statement. Utility service contracts, statements, or payment receipts, (Gas, Electric, Water providers).
Physically living in NC for the last FULL year, 365 days, as your primary and permanent residence is a basic prerequisite requirement for in-state residency status. You must be at least 19 years of age to establish duration apart from your parents.
