Academics. A Standards-Referenced Report (SRR) is slightly different than a Standards-Based Report. Standards-Referenced Reports combine aspects of a Standards-Based system with traditional grades to create a complete look at how your student is progressing toward curricular standards in each class.
The following two factors determine a student's eligibility to enroll in FCPS: Residency: Children must be living with a parent and residing in Fairfax County. Age: Children must be age 5 or older by September 30.
Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R)
Shorts, skirts, or dresses that are too short or too tight should not be worn to school. Clothing that promotes drugs, alcohol, or violence is prohibited in Fairfax County schools. Clothing that contains inappropriate language or sexual innuendo is also inappropriate.
Children who will be 5 years old by September 30 of a given year are eligible to enter kindergarten.
Silent Sustained Reading (SSR) is. defined as a block of time set aside in. the course of a school day for students. simply to read.
Substantial research literature indicates that positive teacher-student relationships (TSRs) promote students' academic achievement. One explanation is that students are more motivated to. learn when they have positive relationships with teachers (Urdan & Schoenfelder, 2006).
Age-Related Expectations (ARE)– what is expected of a pupil by a given age. These are often outlined as a series of statements detailing what children should be able to do.
