FAQ

“In the early days of the pandemic, it was recommended to isolate for 10 days after having a positive COVID test. And then a few years ago, the CDC changed its recommendation: you could come out of isolation five days after receiving a positive test and wear a mask for the additional five days.”

You can leave your home when at least 5 days have passed since symptoms began and your symptoms have ended or improved and you have had no fever for at least 24 hours (that is one full day of no fever without the use of medicine that reduces fevers).

You must monitor yourself for symptoms, wear a mask at all times around others, wash hands, and stay at least 6 feet from others for 14 days after exposure.

Quarantine for 5 days (with the day of exposure as day 0, day 1 is the day of + test or symptom start, and day 6 is when you can stop quarantine) You may stop quarantine after 5 days if you do not have symptoms. Please wear a mask for the next 5 days to protect others.

If you know you have been exposed to COVID-19, stay away from people who are at high risk of getting very sick for 5 days, if possible.

If you develop symptoms isolate immediately. get tested. stay home until you know the result.

Updated Guidance: The updated Respiratory Virus Guidance recommends that people stay home and away from others until at least 24 hours after both their symptoms are getting better overall, and they have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
