We enter a single team in each age group: 10, 11, and 12 year olds. Teams that win the district tournament may go on to compete at sectionals. If the 12 year-old team wins the sectional tournament they will have the opportunity to compete at states and potentially the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
Slaughter rule: The game is over after the third inning if a team leads by twelve runs. No stealing or advancing on passed balls by a team leading by eight (8) or more runs.
The draft order is determined by a lottery system, starting in 2023, where teams that did not make the postseason in the previous year participate in a state-lottery style process to determine the first six picks. The team with the worst record has the best odds of receiving the first pick.
Regular Season At levels of play, every rostered player present at the start of a game must participate in each game for a minimum of six defensive outs and bat at least once.
Which teams participate in the Little World Series? In the months leading up to the Little League World Series, teams are selected to participate in district, sectional or regional tournaments, and the number of games to qualify for the tournament depends on the zone in which they play.
For a child to be a Little Leaguer®, eligibility must first be established by way of residency inside the boundaries of a local Little League®, or the location of the school where the child attends is located inside a local league's boundaries that is approved by Little League Baseball, Incorporated.
Players who have graduated high school but not attended college are eligible for the draft, as are those who have completed at least one year of junior college. Players attending four-year colleges are eligible to be drafted upon completing their junior year or turning 21 years old.
Length of game A regulation game consists of six innings. If the game is halted prior to the completion of six innings, it is considered an official game if four innings have been completed (three and a half, if the home team leads); otherwise, if at least one inning has been completed, it is a suspended game.
Held each December, the Rule 5 Draft allows clubs without a full 40-man roster to select certain non-40-man roster players from other clubs. Clubs draft in reverse order of the standings from the previous season.
Any current draft-eligible prospect from the Division I, Division 2, Division 3, NAIA and Junior College levels as well as graduating high school seniors can participate in the pre-Draft portion of the MLB Draft League.
