"AAA" - BASEBALL (Ages 10-11) This division of Little League promotes a higher level of competition than "AA" and emphasizes more of the standard rules of Little League baseball.
The Little League Baseball® program includes divisions for all children, ages 4–16. Baseball divisions consist of the following programs: Tee Ball – Ages 4-7. Minor League – Ages 5-11.
The draft rotation follows the reverse order of finish from the previous season, with the last place team's manager receiving the first pick. For example, in a four-team league, the team that finished last in the previous season would get the 1st, 8th, 9th, and 16th picks through the first four rounds.
For safety reasons, some leagues have begun to prohibit the use of baseball doughnuts. In 2012 Little League revised their Senior League rules to prohibit the use of "traditional batting donuts".
Players who have graduated high school but not attended college are eligible for the draft, as are those who have completed at least one year of junior college. Players attending four-year colleges are eligible to be drafted upon completing their junior year or turning 21 years old.
Using detailed participation research, interviews, and real-world common sense, Little League® International learned that parents, players, and volunteers wanted to see Little League become, as a whole, a younger program, and give children an easier way to play Little League with their friends and classmates.
An outfielder may not come into the infield dirt to back up a play. Outfielders must stay in the outfield grass. 6. Infielders (first baseman, second baseman, shortstop and third baseman) must be positioned in the dirt prior to the pitch.
Updates made to Regulation II to reflect that starting with the 2025 season, children at the youngest level of the program (League Age 4-7) will have the ability to register for any program they choose, without respect to any geography- or school-related eligibility requirements.
Held each December, the Rule 5 Draft allows clubs without a full 40-man roster to select certain non-40-man roster players from other clubs. Clubs draft in reverse order of the standings from the previous season.
