You might hear from us sooner about your application, especially if we have any questions for you, or if we would like to invite you to interview. Wherever possible, we aim to provide a final decision within 8-12 weeks of application receipt.
King's College London does not make Unconditional offers to applicants until they have satisfied our academic conditions of entry (e.g. three A Levels or a completed International Baccalaureate), and we will not make Unconditional offers on the basis of predicted grades or GCSE marks.
Admission to the majority of King's courses is highly competitive, and this means that unfortunately a large number of applicants - even those who meet or exceed the minimum entry requirements for consideration - will be unsuccessful each year.
You might hear from us sooner about your application, especially if we have any questions for you, or if we would like to invite you to interview. Wherever possible, we aim to provide a final decision within 8-12 weeks of application receipt.
For 2021 undergraduate entry, just 16.9% of applicants received offers of admission. The King's College London acceptance rate for postgraduate students rose slightly to 29.3%, but still remained below one in three applicants.
In addition, all new undergraduate students on a 40-week contract and all postgraduate students are guaranteed accommodation with us if they book before the guarantee deadline. Before you make a booking, explore our residences page to fully understand the location, room fees, and facilities available at each residence.
Higher Competition: With the rise in applicants, competition has grown more intense. The university is receiving applications from highly qualified students, forcing KCL to be more selective to maintain its academic standards.
3 in 8 applicants to this programme received an offer. Data shown above is for entry in academic year 2022/23 (sources). King's College offers some unsuccessful applicants a place in another programme.
Wherever possible, we aim to provide a final decision within 8-12 weeks of application receipt.
KCL's acceptance rate is moderately selective compared to other universities to study in London. It is more selective than Edinburgh, Manchester, and Bristol but less selective than Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College. Its 13% acceptance rate puts it on par with other highly-ranked London institutions.
