You can simply update your mailing address online via the Texas Comptroller website. You will need to provide either: your Texas Taxpayer Number (issued by the Comptroller's office) or your Texas Secretary of State Filing Number (issued by the Texas SOS when you form your LLC)
An entity's registered office must be a physical address in Texas where the registered agent can be personally served with process during business hours. It cannot solely be the address of a mailbox service or telephone answering service. The secretary of state cannot serve as an entity's registered agent.
A Texas LLC files a Certificate of Amendment when its name is changed or its management structure needs to be updated. For example, file a Certificate of Amendment if your LLC goes from member-managed to manager-managed, or if individual member or manager information has changed.
If you need to change your Texas registered agent or registered office, you can make this change by filing a Statement of Change of Registered Agent/Registered Office with the Secretary of State. This form costs $15 to file and can be filed by mail, fax, online, or in person.
In California, that involves filing form FTB 3533-B (Change of Address for Businesses, Exempt Organizations, Estates and Trusts) with the Franchise Tax Board.
