The travel document usually arrives within 150 days (sometimes longer) after submitting your application. You can't leave the country until you have your approved travel document in hand, so you should expect to spend the 3–5 months after submitting your green card application in the United States.

If you have TPS and wish to travel outside the United States, you must apply for travel authorization. If we approve your request, we will issue you a Form I-512T, Authorization for Travel by an Alien to the United States, to serve as evidence of DHS's prior consent to your travel outside the United States.

TPS does not provide beneficiaries with a separate path to lawful permanent residence (a green card) or citizenship. However, a TPS recipient who otherwise is eligible for permanent residence may apply for that status.

If you are a TPS recipient in the United States and you have been granted advance parole, it generally allows you to travel internationally and return to the United States without abandoning your pending immigration application or status.

TPS alone is not an authorization to travel outside the country, so you can't go on the cruise.

As a TPS recipient, you can travel to your home country, but it's generally not recommended as it could raise questions about the necessity of your TPS status. The government may view your travel to your home country as an indication that conditions there have improved, and that you no longer need TPS protection.
