Starting January 1, 2024, employers must provide at least 40 hours or five days off each year to most workers.

Employers must provide each employee with earned sick leave. Employees must accrue no less than one (1) hour of earned sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked within the geographic boundaries of the City; employers may cap the total accrual of sick leave at eighty (80) hours.

Full-time employees are given an average of 7 days of sick leave. Part-time employees get an average of 6 sick days per year. Full-time employees can accrue up to an average of 42 days where their plans permit carry over.
