Satisfaction of a judgment means that the judgment is no longer a lien on the debtor's real property. The courts cannot control the actions of third parties, but usually, the fact of satisfaction is recorded by the major credit reporting agencies and included in the debtor's credit history.
"Satisfactory" means that something is adequate, or acceptable. Whereas "satisfying" means that something meets your needs or requirements and has positive associations.
While most people would agree that “good” is better than “satisfactory,” they'd have a hard time explaining exactly what the difference is between these two terms. After all, if we consider a metric's current value to be “good,” then aren't we necessarily “satisfied” with it, as well?
Ing to Webster's Thesaurus, the terms satisfactory and enough are synonymous. On an evaluation form, satisfactory generally means “meets minimum standards.” For some reason, that choice bothers me as much as unsatisfactory or “below minimum standards.” Maybe it's because I know there is more in me than average.
"Satisfactory" suggests the lowest performance that is still passing. "Fair", on the other hand, sounds like a reasonable, but not spectacular, performance - nothing to be ashamed of, but nothing to boast about either.
