Shareholders' meeting. A shareholders' meeting is a meeting held by the shareholders of a company to discuss the arrangements of the company or to vote in the election of board members.

The formalities for calling (or convening) shareholders' meetings are much stricter than those for board meetings. At least fourteen clear days' written notice must be given to all shareholders, directors and any auditor. This is regardless of whether resolutions are to be passed as ordinary or special resolutions.

While corporate board members are present at shareholder meetings, the main voice in these settings is that of the investors. Owning company stock provides holders with equity and, depending on the type of stock they own, the right to vote during shareholder meetings.
