About 22 years Maricopa / Age

Maricopa is the name applied by a Pima Indian Tribe to a neighboring tribe of Uymas inhabiting the Gila River Valley in southern Arizona. How the name reached California is unknown, but it was given to the oil-booming community when a station on the Sunset Western Railroad was established there in 1903.

Maricopa County was named after the Maricopa people. Five Indian reservations are located in the county. The largest are the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community (east of Scottsdale) and the Gila River Indian Community (south of Chandler).

The Maricopa Tribe is known for their red clay pottery work. Various jars and bowls were created for essential needs, made of natural materials.

Maricopa County is Arizona's most populous and fastest growing county. It is the largest of Arizona's fifteen counties and the fourth largest county in the nation. Approximately four and half million people call Maricopa County home, more than half of the entire population of Arizona.

Maricopa's raw desert was cultivated into rows of green plants, offering up snowy white blossoms of cotton between 1948 and the 1960s. Throughout the years, cattle became an important industry and farmers experimented with, and grew, a variety of other crops including alfalfa, peas, melons, citrus, and pecans.

He grew up in Southern California and became a movie extra and then an actor after losing his scholarship to USC in the 1920s. Wayne bought 4,000 acres of farmland between Maricopa and Stanfield in the late 1950s.
