Before Flanigans became the beloved seafood bar and grill, in 1959, founder Joseph “Big Daddy” Flanigan jumpstarted the chain with Big Daddy lounges and liquor stores in Hialeah, where Mr. Flanigan and his son, James Flanigan, opened the first Flanigans Seafood Bar and Grill in Pompano Beach in 1985.
