Travis is the West Coast terminal for aeromedical evacuation aircraft returning sick or injured patients from the Pacific area. Part of the Air Mobility Command, the 60th AMW is responsible for strategic airlift and air refueling missions circling the globe.
The following curfew hours are established for children on Travis AFB: 2.3. 1. Sunday through Thursday nights, between 2200 and 0600.

It's a great base and definitely family friendly. CDC is solid and on base schools are great from what I've heard (I have no school age kids) and I believe the housing wait list isn't too bad. You will have more than enough to do while here as well.
