If there is a 30-day notice period to end the contract, all you have to do is notify Sky in writing at least 30 days before the end date. It does not have to be exactly 30 days, regardless of what they said on the phone. Giving more than 30 days' notice is actually a goodwill gesture on your part.
For Sky TV/Sky Q, HD, Sky+, Sky Multiscreen, Sky Q experience and Streaming TV (Sky Glass or Sky Stream): To end your contract, you'll need to give us at least 31 days' notice, which can't end before your minimum term finishes.
Website Log into your online account through the Sky website. Once logged in, choose the 'Your Products' option and then select 'Broadband'. Upon doing this a new page will load which will have a box titled 'Your Package'. Underneath this you can find confirmation of the date you're in contract until.

You can find out when your Sky contract ends online by logging into your My Sky Account. Go to sky/myaccount. Enter your email address and password, then click 'Sign in' You'll be able to access your contract in the 'Your Contracts' section. If you can't see the one you need, select 'View all'.
You can check your contract status by asking your provider – over the phone or livechat – or by logging into your account online. You may also be able to find your contract end date via your provider's app (if you have downloaded it), by checking a bill, or looking through correspondence with your provider.
You have to initiate contact. Your contract doesn't end until you cancel. It's discounts that end. You will need to contact Sky to try to negotiate a new deal which will require another 18 month minimum term contract.
If you don't activate your Sky Glass TV, you'll only be able to connect your other devices. Access to TV apps like Netflix won't be available. Any Sky Stream pucks you have won't work without a subscription. You'll see a "No subscription" message .
A trick that has worked for me before is to say you're moving into a household that is already being supplied by them. I did this to Sky when I moved back in with my parents, despite then being with Talk Talk, and they were happy to just waive the cancellation fees without looking into it any further.
