To get a no contact order, a person must file a claim with their local court — and often, they will have to go before a judge. When filing a complaint, the petitioner must file in their own jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of the assailant.
At the courthouse, tell the clerk of court that you want to file a petition for a protection from abuse order. Obtain a petition for a protective order from either the Montgomery County District Court Clerk or you can visit the court form search. File the petition with a Circuit or District Court clerk during normal business hours. You will be directed to a courtroom as soon as a judge is available to hear your case.
