Notice of Intention to Defend - This is a form located on the bottom of your summons. Complete the Notice of Intention to Defend if you dispute owing all or some of what the plaintiff claims. Rule 1-311 - Signing of Pleadings and Other Papers (a) Requirement. Every pleading and paper of a party represented by an attorney shall be signed by at least one attorney who has been admitted to practice law in this State and who complies with Rule 1-312.

(a) General Rule. A party shall file an answer to an original complaint, counterclaim, cross-claim, or third-party claim within 30 days after being served, except as provided by sections (b) and (c) of this Rule.

The party you are serving must receive the documents personally. They must sign for the mail or receive the documents in person. There is one exception. The person delivering the documents in person may leave the papers with an adult resident of the other party's home.

What is a preliminary injunction? A preliminary injunction is temporary relief that preserves the status quo until the courts decide on the merits of the case. § 2-311. (a) The sheriff of a county may establish and administer reasonable guidelines in ance with this section for disposing of abandoned, lawfully confiscated, or recovered property that is in the possession of the sheriff's office.

Under the Maryland Rules, you must provide the opposing party with your discovery answers within either 30 days after service of the request or 15 days after the date on which the party's initial pleading or motion is required, whichever is later.
