Reporting on WhatsApp carries significant implications: No Guaranteed Immediate Action: While reporting is taken seriously, it does not automatically ensure immediate action. Investigations take time and are subject to thorough review.
WhatsApp doesn't delete accounts based solely on reports. They review for policy violations. Multiple reports may not lead to deletion if no violations are found.
When you report someone, WhatsApp receives the last five messages sent to you by the reported user or group, and they won't be notified. WhatsApp also receives the reported group or user ID, information on when the message was sent, and the type of message sent (image, video, text, etc.).
Tap the chat info and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Tap Report > Report. You can also block the person by checking the box in the Report to WhatsApp notification.
