JURY Is there a dress code for jurors? Proper court attire is mandatory. No jeans, shorts, tank tops, sweats or other very casual attire is permitted. Dress "business casual" or "business" for your appearance.

You are expected to conduct yourself with reserve and courtesy, and when appearing at the courthouse, must dress appropriately to preserve the dignity of the Court. Proper attire includes coat and tie for men and similarly appropriate attire for women. No jeans, polo shirts or sneakers.

Jurors should be prepared to remain the entire day. The Court's normal hours of operation are A.M. to P.M. (- in White Plains.) If summoned to jury duty in Manhattan, your service may be as long as 2 weeks, from the first day you report to the courthouse.

ONE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO SERVE AS A JUROR IF: If you have served on jury duty within the past 4 years. If you have been convicted of a felony. If you are under the age of 18 years.

Bring your own pen/pencil and take it with you when you leave. Bring your own books/magazines/electronic devices and chargers. Jurors may bring their own beverage in a resealable, non-glass container and snack or food that does not require refrigeration.
