All candidates for degrees from Suffolk County Community College must meet the following general requirements. They must: Attain a cumulative grade point average of not less than 2.0. Attain a grade point average of not less than 2.0 in their major field of study.

Suffolk County Community College does not offer pass/fail grades as part of the grading system. The FN grade is given at the discretion of faculty and indicates a failing grade due to lack of attendance. The FN is equivalent to an F in grade point average computations.
