Replevin (/rɪˈplɛvɪn/) or claim and delivery (sometimes called revendication) is a legal remedy which enables a person to recover personal property taken wrongfully or unlawfully, and to obtain compensation for resulting losses.
In Nevada, replevin is achieved through the statutory process called claim and delivery. The claim and delivery process involves obtaining a writ of possession from the court and having the personal property seized by the constable or sheriff.
Federal Rule of Civil Procedure Rule 64 provides that replevin is a remedy for civil cases in federal courts, regardless of whether state procedural rules require separate actions for replevin.
