Sept 11 (Reuters) - Nevada will not use the overhauled national bar exam set to debut in 2026 for lawyer licensing, following a similar move by California last month.
Washington has reciprocity with: AK, CO, CT, DC, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KY, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WV, WI, and WY.
Nevada has NO RECIPROCITY OR ADMISSION BY MOTION of any kind.
Bar Exam Format Washington is a two-day exam consisting of the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). Day 1: Six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions. Day 2: Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a six-hour, 200-question multiple-choice exam.

The Nevada Bar Exam is considered one of the most difficult due to its state-specific essay and performance test components. These components assess one's knowledge of laws unique to Nevada, foundational legal knowledge, and lawyering skills.
Applicants who are already licensed to practice law in another state or jurisdiction must register as an attorney applicant, complete a positive moral character determination and pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination as well as the California Bar Examination.

In order to pass the Nevada Bar Exam, an applicant must have a total scaled score of 75 or higher and a converted score of 75 or higher on at least three written essay questions. This equates to a passing score of 140 on a 200-point scale.
