In order to report to the appropriate taxing authorities, financial institutions should use the State Bar of California's Taxpayer Identification number 94-6001385 on all Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts.
You will automatically be given your birth month as a grace period in order to comply with MCLE requirements without a penalty. If you do not complete and report at least 15 hours of CLE by the last day of your birth month (grace peri0d), you will be in non-compliance and subject to a penalty.
The following jurisdictions have a 60-minute credit hour: AK, AL, AZ, AR, CA, CT, DE, GA, GU, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KY, LA, ME, MN, MP, MS, MT, NE, NH, NV, NC, ND, NM, OH, OR, PA, PR, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VI, VT, WA and WY.

The California bar does not offer reciprocity to any state. In order to practice law in California, you must take the California bar. However, non-California lawyers can represent clients in court in California if they are admitted pro hac vice for a particular case.
