If you missed your court date and wish to schedule a new court date for a Civil Traffic case, you must contact the Clerk's Office in person or in writing, and will be required to fill out a "Civil Traffic Court Defendant's Request Form". This request will be forwarded to the presiding Hearing Officer for review.

In a best-case scenario, a simplified divorce is granted in as little as three weeks by the court. That does not include the time necessary to prepare a divorce petition, which is a matter of filling out the petition along with financial affidavits.

In Florida, you can have your maiden name restored in a Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage, which is what a divorce decree is called in the state. You must ask the judge to include the request in the final judgment. Once the judge grants your request, you will need to inform other institutions about the change.

The state of Florida requires full financial disclosure to proceed with a settlement agreement. Nearly all divorce cases require both parties submit a Family Law Financial Affidavit. This affidavit is essential to ensure equitable asset distribution under Florida statute.

An uncontested divorce can take as few as four to six weeks. Florida requires you to wait at least 20 days from the date you file to get a divorce. It's common for it to take longer than 20 days, though, because you have to wait for the final court hearing, which depends on a busy court schedule.
