The Texas CJA Panel Application is a form used to request criminal justice services from the Texas Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel. The CJA Panel is a group of attorneys qualified to provide legal representation to indigent persons in federal court. This application form is used to apply for appointment to the Panel, and must be completed and submitted with the required attachments to the CJA Panel Coordinator in the U.S. District Court where the applicant practices. There are 3 types of applications: a full-time panel application, a part-time panel application, and a pro bono panel application. All applications must include the applicant’s contact information, bar admission information, practice experience, references, and other required documents. The CJA Panel Coordinator will review the application and make a decision regarding the applicant’s eligibility for a CJA Panel appointment.
