The pivot at the front leaf eyelet then forces the pin riding on top of the springs downward into the spring pack itself. This downward force of the pin on the leaf springs causes down force on the entire axle assembly and pushes your tires down onto the pavement/dirt.
Place Traction Bar under rear spring, as shown in the illustration. Center Traction Bar so all suspension components clear adequately (U-Bolts, shock mounts, etc.) and be sure Rubber Snubber is fastened securely.

To get started, bolt on the axle brackets. THey bolt on around the tube just inside the leaf springs. The bar is then slid into the bracket with the angel side up for maximum ground clearance. Next, the swing shackle and snubber and get a rough idea where it will land on the frame.

CalTrac bars use the same axle rotation to create downward force on the spring to prevent wrap up and forward motion at the spring mount to move the car. The links on CalTrac bars act like the lower links on a 4-link suspension. The leaf springs themselves become the upper links in a 4-link system.
These traction bars are also very easy to and don't solidly attach to the front of the spring or the chassis, so they won't cause bind or abnormal suspension reaction during normal street driving.
