Click Start. Select All apps. Scroll to the Office application name, like Excel.

To open and edit a file in the Microsoft 365 desktop app while in the Classic version of OneDrive or SharePoint: Select the file in OneDrive or SharePoint. Select the More icon. , then select Open. Select Open in (app) (such as Open in Word).

Navigate to the Documents tool. Locate the file you want to open and edit in Microsoft Office 365. Hover over the file and click the icon that corresponds with the file you want to open. For example, for a Word document, click the Word icon to Open in Word.

Every Office Online file can be opened in its corresponding Office desktop program, by selecting Edit in (application name) from the Edit menu. To open your file with your desktop software using your keyboard: Press Tab until you get to the Edit menu.

When you have a document open in Office Online, there is usually an "Open in" or "Edit in" button that allows you to open the document in the corresponding desktop application. By clicking this button, the document will be opened in the installed desktop version of Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.

Go to the file you want to open on the desktop app. Click the ?three-dots? icon next to the file and select ?Open in Desktop App.? The file will open in its respective desktop app (for example, Word document opens in Microsoft Word). Make changes and save the file from the desktop app.
