You can check the validity of a signature at any time. To do so, open the document in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader. Click the Signature Panel icon then click ?Validate All? then ?OK?. The software will run a validation check to see if the digital certificate used to sign the document is valid.

Look for a reputable autograph authentication service, such as PSA/DNA or JSA, and have them examine the signature. They will be able to give you a professional opinion on whether or not the autograph is genuine.

The best way to authenticate a signature is to compare it to a known sample. If you have access to a previous document signed by the same person, compare the signatures side by side. Look for similarities in the writing style, stroke patterns, and overall appearance.

Look closely at the ink to tell if a signature has been stamped on. If it is stamped, more ink will be located in the center of a given letter in the name. Another indicator in the ink is its color. Older signatures are likely to have oxidized, and so the ink should be a brown color if it was originally colored black.

You can go to an authorized registration agent to get your identity verified in-person. You will need to bring an original copy of your currently-valid government identification to the face-to-face registration. In some cases, this may be performed by a registered notary.

The point of validating a document signature is to check that the document is issued by the expected person - so there need to be some expectation already.
