Track Account Activity with Audit Trail in Google Drive For Free

If you don't see Activity dashboard or the privacy settings: If the file isn't owned by a Google Account through work or school, no one can see the view history.

As an administrator, you can use the audit and investigation page to run searches related to Drive log events. There you can view a record of actions to see your organization's user activity in Drive.

Event logs are found within the Google Workspace Admin console. But they are also found on the activity tab of any file or folder within a user's Google Drive app. Event logs or as Google calls them audit event logs are kept for 6 months.
