Before renewing your license you are required by Arkansas law to assess your vehicle with your county assessor. Assessments are due by May 31 each year. You must pay all personal property taxes you owe in your county of residence.

Arkansas law requires that all property owners assess their personal and business personal property between January 1st and May 31st each year. A 10% late assessment penalty will be applied to all property not assessed before the deadline.

The time frame to assess personal property is from the first working day in January to May 31. You can assess personal property in person, by phone, by mail or by fax.

Primary Document (Arkansas Title, Bill of Sale, Manufacturer Statement of Origin, Out of State Title) Insurance Card. Federal Odometer Statement. Personal Property Tax Number (PPAN) assigned from your county assessor. Lien Contract/Security Agreement. Current Year County Tax Assessment. Proof of paid tax receipt.

If you do not have the Renewal Reminder you can renew your registration with the Last 4 Digits of your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), License Plate Number and Zip Code. You will need a valid credit card or electronic check information for payment.

Gather What You'll Need The location of your County Tag Office. Valid Georgia driver's license or ID card. A completed Form MV-1 Title and Tag Application (you can do this online or print and fill out the form by hand). A passing emissions inspection certificate, if applicable.

Certificate of title or proof that the vehicle is financed and title is being held by a lien holder. Proof from your county assessor showing that the vehicle has been assessed or listed for assessment for the current year. Proof that no personal property taxes are owed.
