Margins: All page margins (top, bottom, left, and right) should be 1 inch. All text should be left-justified. Indentation: The first line of every paragraph should be indented 0.5 inches. Page Numbers: Create a right-justified header 0.5 inches from the top edge of every page.

It seems a bit odd that you can't change the left and right margins in the header without changing them in the body of the document. However, by moving the left indent and the right alignment tab in the header, you can achieve the same results.

Change the header and footer margin Click VIEW > Ruler. Double-click the header or footer area. Press CTRL+A. On the ruler, drag the right indent marker.

Use headings hierarchically , with the <h1> representing the most important idea on the page, and sub-sections organized with <h2> level headings. Those sub-sections can themselves be divided with <h3> level headings, and so on. It is best to plan out a heading structure before composing a page.

Use sentence case for headings and titles. Use descriptive headings and titles because they help a reader navigate their browser and the page. It's easier to jump between pages and sections of a page if the headings and titles are unique.

Go to Insert > Header or Footer. Choose from a list of standard headers or footers, go to the list of Header or Footer options, and select the header or footer that you want. Or, create your own header or footer by selecting Edit Header or Edit Footer. When you're done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
