The disabled property sets or returns whether a checkbox should be disabled, or not. A disabled element is unusable and un-clickable. Disabled elements are usually rendered in gray by default in browsers.

To disable a checkbox, use the disabled attribute in the <input> tag.

The boolean checked property exists on checkbox inputs. The isCheckedJQuery function in the code below gets the element by id using the jQuery selector. If the element exists, is a checkbox, and is checked, then the function returns true , else it returns false .

The CheckBox options can be restricted from being changed to the checked or unchecked state by using the CheckBoxClick event when the CheckBox cell is clicked.

Checkboxes cannot be set to readonly using standard HTML attributes. However, alternative approaches like using the disabled attribute or CSS properties like pointer-events can mimic the read-only behavior for checkboxes. But you can achieve it by using these approaches.

The CheckBox control has two important properties, Checked and CheckState. The Checked property returns either true or false . The CheckState property returns either Checked or Unchecked; or, if the ThreeState property is set to true , CheckState may also return Indeterminate.
