You can't get out of your obligations under a contract simply because you've changed your mind about what you bargained for or because it would be inconvenient for you to have to perform your end of the deal. You need to show legal grounds for breaking the contract.

Always put a contract amendment in writing and make sure both parties sign and date it. Reference the title of the contract, if applicable; its original parties; and original signing date, so that it is clear what document you are amending. Attach the amendment to the original contract.

A contract modification could change the scope of the contract, the price of the contract, or both. A contract modification exists when the parties to the contract approve the modification either in writing, orally, or based on the parties' customary business practices.

This is called a post-signature amendment and requires a written agreement between the two parties. In order to alter the original agreement, you will have to sign a new contract that defines the necessary changes. This second contract remains valid for as much time as the initial document.

This is because once a contract is signed, it's legally binding. Therefore, everyone involved in the contract must agree to any amendments you wish to make.

Any modifications that are made to a contract must be agreed upon by all of the involved parties, just as the initial contract needs to be agreed upon by all parties. Assuming that all parties are in agreement, then the modifications will be enforceable by law, just as the original contract itself would be.
