Using a 6-minute increment chart is simple and straightforward. To calculate how many billable hours you worked, simply locate the number of minutes in the left column, then record the billing increment to its right. For example, say it takes 14 minutes to respond to a client's email.

Make sure that you include your hourly rate on the invoice along with the number of hours worked in the breakdown of services. It's usually best to create a table for this, with columns for the task description, hourly rate, number of hours worked and then the cost of this.
