Signature forwarding allows your recipients to forward the document to another person for signing. Once it happens, you will be notified via email. A new recipient will be added to the recipients list. In case of signature forwarding, a new signer (their email) be recorded on the signature certificate.

If you are signing something formal with the express authority of the intended signee, put 'p. p' before your signature, as it will advise the reader that you are signing on someone else's behalf.

Go to Admin > Signer experience > Email options and tick the option 'Signer emails include link to change/forward to another signer'. This setting is turned on by default. If a signer clicks the Change Signer link a browser window pops up where the person can enter a new name and email.

Click the action menu for the envelope and select Forward. In the new envelope, the completed documents are present and renamed to include the prefix "FWD:". You can add documents or apply templates as needed. Add recipients to the new envelope and fill in the message details.

Upload your document into the electronic signature application, such as our eSignature application. Drag in the signature, text and date fields where the recipient needs to take action. Click send. The electronic signature application will email a link to the recipient so they can access the document and sign.

Forwarding creates a copy of a completed envelope which you can send to new recipients as is or add new documents and fields as needed. For a forwarded envelope, you cannot remove any information or signatures on the completed documents, but you can add new recipients, documents, and recipient fields.

After opening the documents, in the top menu, select OTHER ACTIONS > Assign to Someone Else. Enter the new signer's email address, name, and a reason for changing the signing responsibility. When you're finished, select ASSIGN TO SOMEONE ELSE.

Procuration is the official term for signing for someone else. This term is taken from the Latin word procurare meaning ?to take care of.? Now, when signing on someone else's behalf, the signature is preceded by p.p. standing for per procurationem.
