It is possible that your text is in a shape or a table that has a white background that blocks the watermark. Watermarks are images that are in the header. The header acts like a base layer for your text. If there is something in the text layer that blocks it, you will not see it.

If you want it to appear on every page in the document, from the Watermark dropdown, click Custom Watermark. The Custom Watermark dialog box will be displayed. Click Text watermark, from the Text dropdown, select your required text, click Apply, click OK, click Close.

If you can't delete a watermark using Remove Watermark, try this: Double-click near the top of the page to open the header area. Click the watermark to select it. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.

To do this, go to the Layout ribbon and choose Breaks and choose from one of the section breaks. Now, go to the section where you want to apply a watermark. Double-click the header. You'll see that you are now looking at two different sections.

On the ?Design? tab, in the ?Page Background? section, click ?Watermark.? If you are on Windows, then from the ?Watermark? menu, select ?Remove Watermark.? If you are on Mac, on the ?Insert Watermark? window, select ?No Watermark? at the top. And Word will delete the watermark from your document.
